Child Of Light Continues To Look Incredible

Writer Jeffrey Yohalem describes it as a 'playable poem', but what Child of Light represents to many gamers is a fusion of JRPG mechanics in a 2D space with a gorgeous watercolour art style. People are excited about this one and with good reason.

It looks absolutely stunning and this making-of short has just reinforced that in a very big way. It takes us behind the scenes of the game's development, which is all well and good, but I was too busy marvelling at the game's animation. LOOK AT THE WAY THE HAIR MOVES.

In all seriousness, this looks incredibly promising. I want this game in my life.

I didn't even know Australia was getting the Deluxe Edition but now that I know I gotta get me sommadat

I'm 90% sold on this too. It looks pretty awesome.

Not normally into these kinds of games, but it looks really nice.

I'm still finding it hard to be enthusiastic about this game. On the one hand, the platforming and art style look fantastic. The "It's essentially the concept art" style is one of the reasons I like Bravely Default. On the other hand, the platforming/combat mix reminds me a lot of Valkyrie Profile which I could never get into. Actually, the combat itself is the sticking point, it doesn't look fun. I have no problem with turn based combat, (Almost 2 decades worth of JRPGs) it just feels very basic compared to what else I have access to today. Now, if this was channeling OdinSphere, I would be tempted to put my money down now.
