Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin Rags On The Need For Speed Movie

No, really. He hated it. Including the bits with Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul.

Although, Jeff Garlin did admit on Conan O'Brien's show that he only lasted for about 20 minutes before needing to leave the theatre, mouth agape. So maybe it got marginally better thereafter? I don't know. I didn't see it. The only reason I'd go see that movie is for the pretty cars, anyway.

I saw it, and I kind of agree. Yeah, it was bad, but not bad enough to walk out of, but then again, I've never walked out of a movie in my life.

On a semi-related note, I've never liked Curb Your Enthusiasm. Watched it a couple of times, and thought, this isn't funny. Love Seinfeld though, so go figure.

Funny, I never really liked Seinfeld but I love Curb. Weird :P

First seasons good. The rest are the same

I've walked out on 1 movie.
Can't even remember what it was called but it was about motorbikes using nitros. It was during the (first) height of the Fast and Furious craze.
I lasted 10 minutes and got a refund.
Turned out people saw my example and followed. I tell you about 20 refunds from the same cinema sends a message to Hoyts.

You're thinking of Torque, which I've always had a soft spot for. It was Fast and the Furious, before that franchise fully embraced its inner craziness,

On a side note, the only two movies I've walked out on are Kung Pow and Hulk. In hindsight, I appreciate what Ang Lee was trying to achieve, but it was executed so poorly. Sure, you can try to make a character study out of a Hulk script (though I think it's misguided and wouldn't suggest it), but throw the audience a bone. You can't have a Hulk movie with only two large action set pieces and have one of being in a fight with mutant dogs in a pitch black forest. When I realised what a massive ball-buster that movie was going to be, I walked.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is basically Seinfeld if George Costanza was the male lead... and was twice as neurotic and even less likable. Its humour isn't as broad as Seinfeld's but there are moments in Curb that are pure gold and approach Peep Show in terms of unbearably uncomfortable/awkward comedy.

Wow, a movie based on a video game sucks? Shock horror!

Jeff Garlin has always been kind of hit or miss for me in terms of his comedy. I enjoyed a couple of his BTW podcasts, and like a few of his appearances in movies and tv shows, but he seems to be of that mindset that some people have when they get older that taste is an objective rather than subjective thing...

that being said, i wouldnt be at all surprised about the need for speed movie being bad...
