Has been a very long time, I can only really remember picking up the axe at the beginning of level 1.

The axe is high. You need to run and jump. It appears in the foliage. You also can’t actually stop.
Hmmm… I just hit up YouTube to refresh my memory and I think DrCurlytek had it right (eventually), the axes and skateboards were in eggs. The fruit was in the trees.
At least at the beginning of level 1 which was all I watched.
Perhaps Mark and I were thinking of the c64 or spectrum version. I’m sure the axe was available by non egg means?

how about sonic the hedgehog (2 perhaps) you could get weapon things out of trees if you count shields and invincibility as weapons, also coconuts is kind of a mechanical robo-weapon created by dr robotnik and they live in trees, also sonic, he does that running thing and can also jump…
maybe sonic and the secret rings? you literally can’t stop running.

Hey, did a few day’s worth of Haitakus disappear off the site for some reason?
I remember giving an answer for one that had something something “sleep” in the first line, something something “misguided tyrant” in the second and something something “flaming minions” in the third, which I guessed as possibly Command & Conquer.
I was trying to find it to see if I was correct and most days (including it) from last week are missing in the list tagged “Haitaku”.
Weird.
