As it is with most modern movies, the first good look we’re getting at the star of the upcoming Godzilla flick is via an action figure.
Sure, we’ve seen glimpses in the trailers, but nothing this crisp and clear. And…he looks pretty good! Very similar to his original design, though obviously with some changes, most notably the fact he has Chun-Li thighs and/or a tiny Mario Bros. movie head.
The best part might be those arms though; the way they affect the overall posture and body shape of Godzilla let you imagine that there’s still a guy inside a rubber suit (see bottom for reference!)

Like a lot of lizards .. small heads.
Small heads are a trope in the design world to convey large size. Makes giants look bigger if their proportions follow this, otherwise they’re not going to look big at a distance or without context.
I don’t mind the take on the original look at all.
How good the film will be is my main concern
I think he looks amazing for a modern take on Gojira.
