The New Powerpuff Girls Game Is The Best Of Both Worlds

Coming 14 March to Steam from the fine folks at Cartoon Network and Radiangames, The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville gives players the power to choose between the classic animation style from the series’ first run and the horrible new one.

Maybe the new one isn’t so horrible. Maybe it’s just a huge fan of the original series striking out against anyone who would dare mess with his happy memories. Maybe it’s completely irrational, and the new style is a huge improvement over the original.

Nah. It’s an abomination.

It’s great to see Luke Schneider score such a high profile gig, after his first foray into mobile gaming ended up being to free-to-play to make any real money. The man makes some amazing little games, and while Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup are the stars here, his style shines through in every stylishly violent robot explosion.

The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville hits Steam for PC, Mac and Linux on 14 March.
