Fine Art: Valve Just Hired A Very Talented Artist

Robert Briscoe was the artist behind Dear Esther, a game I didn’t actually enjoy that much but which I thought was very easy on the eyes. He’s announced today that he’s flying out to Seattle to work with Valve, taking a break from the indie scene to, well, do whatever it is Valve does behind closed doors that isn’t DOTA 2 or Steam sales.

Given his experience with Valve’s Source engine, and how damn pretty he got it looking in Dear Esther, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Prior to his work on Dear Esther, Briscoe had helped out with environment art on games like Mirror’s Edge and Nuclear Dawn.

You can see more of Robert’s work at his personal site.
