With Xbox One trolling becoming such a thing, you’d think that people populating Call of Duty lobbies would have caught on by now — but sometimes, sheer rage just gets the better of us all.

In that case, yelling out the gamertag of the person that’s angering you makes sense — it just so happens that when the person in question is named “Xbox Skypee,” saying their name out loud means your Xbox One will boot Skype up. That’s not ideal when you’re trying to shoot someone in the face, as this footage by video games shows.

I’m really amused that most people try to tell their Xbox to stop listening — that’s not actually a command unless you’re watching video or something. In that case, you can say “Xbox, stop” to pause playback of whatever you’re watching. The fact people do this shows that people are trying to communicate with their Kinect in the same way they might try talk to a person, though, which is fascinating. If only we could!

Xbox One Skype Trolling

  • Lol it is amusing to watch

But I feel like an old man but at 27 with a baby and another on the way I still can’t get over the fact that so many young kids play COD I know it’s nothing new but can’t understand how parents let them play and rage online. especially when some of them sound like ther 11 years old >_>

Oh well, if they are mostly playing xbone like a moth drawn to the zapper then another reason I’m happy to get a ps4 this year 😉

    • Its why i stopped playing COD, it was just getting too weird the amount of kids you hear on there that make you feel old. The parents are clueless the sort of things their kids are saying and if you were to confront the parents of it then they just say, no you’re wrong my Jimmy would never call you those sort of names and aren’t you bit old to be playing video games.

Same thing with Minecraft, loved playing it until i went to a 9 year old party and all the kids were wearing Minecraft shirts and while with a bunch of friends, somebody said, hey don’t you play that game little michael plays. I just shrugged it off and said nah, play it once as made me feel like some creepy old guy who plays that kid game.

    • Parents use video games as a babysitter. As long as little Johnny isn’t annoying them then they are happy for him to be online spewing racist, misogynistic or homophobic slurs at strangers.

  • I like these troll videos. The guy isn’t saying anything racist or offensive to try bait out a reaction out of someone. The majority of the people getting trolling are annoying kids anyway.

  • With all the words they don’t let you use, it’s a bit surprising that Microsoft wouldn’t have added control words like xbox to the list of words you can’t have in a gamertag. At least make the trolls work for it by naming their account ecksbocks or something phonetic.

  • Um… xbox stop listening is a command. It disables the voice recognition, the exact thing youd want to do when you accidentally trigger it. Did I miss something or was that just flat ot wrong?

    • It’s definitely a command.

I’m over trolls. The thing that is interesting to me about this video is how many people have mics and not in party chat. No-one wants to hear you.

    • Yeah, I’m getting a little annoyed with Kotaku Writers lately. Their articles are becoming more inaccurate and or just non-existent every day.
I mean C’mon its even written on the thumb nail of the video. Sweet Baby Cheesus!
