Denmark Recreates Its Entire Country In Minecraft

Something is blocky in the state of Denmark. Well, at least in the full-on rendition of the country that was built in Minecraft.

Two people at the Danish Geodata Agency have recreated a one-to-one model of Denmark inside the indie gaming sensation, according to reports from DR, the country’s national broadcasting corporation.

In addition to just being awesome, the project has some environmental and educational-focused goals in mind as well. Simon Kokkendorf and Thorbjørn Nielsen, the two men credited with making the whole thing block by virtual block (using geographic data provided by the Geodata Agency), explained to DR that they hope it will be introduced to local schools to help teach students about everything from urban planning to environmental policy.

The bad news is this means they took out dynamite from this version of the game. But even then, I can’t stay mad at a game that somehow never ceases to amaze me.
