Driveclub Is Out This October For PS4

One long delay later, the PS4 racing game Driveclub will be out on October 7, Sony announced today. New trailer above.

Driveclub, originally slated as a launch game for the PS4, was delayed last October just before the newest PlayStation came out.

"The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way," Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida wrote on the PlayStation Blog today. "What Driveclub offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for."

Almost a 1 year delay. Can it pull a South Park and end up being great?

Only bad thing about this game is that the PS+ edition is just as glorified demo. The game is about social/multiplayer racing and PS4 requires PS+ for online play. So why even bother doing this?

This better not set a trend with PS4 PS+ games.

If I like it I'll buy the full game. I can't believe you are against getting a 'glorified demo' for 'free' with a subscription. We've seen stuff like that with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and the new MGS, except we payed for those... Plus gamers have said for years they hate that there are no demoes. And tbh this isn't really a demo, just a smaller version. Could be great, why be so negative.

On the side of the delays... It sucks, but I'm glad they didn't just release it because so far this gen every game I've played so far has been fun but when the weekend is over I feel ripped of because the game could have used more time for story, or gameplay, or graphics or, or, or.... (DR3, Forza, Infamous, Killzone, Knack, Rise, MGS, Assassins Creed, BF4... all are really good for launch title standards I suppose BUT all feel like they could have been so much more with a bit more time.)

Obviously I don't know what the PS+ Version will be like content wise, but I remember them stating that you could achieve the Platinum trophy with this version, so it will still be reasonably hefty in content, it just won't have everything (probably less cars and maybe a couple of tracks)

That being said, I'm also hoping that the retail version still comes with the voucher for PS+ 12Mth Sub, for 50% off... which would be the cheapest a 12Mth Sub has been, provided you were going to buy the game anyway.

Great, can we have G27 support by then for the PS4 or I still won't be interested.
