How One Mario Kart Track Has Changed In 22 Years

If you've been playing Mario Kart games since the beginning, you're probably going to have a bit of déjà vu on the Doughnut Plain track. The folks at GameXplain take a look at the Doughnut Plains level as it originally appeared in 1992's Super Mario Kart and as it will show up in next month's Mario Kart 8.

In some ways, it's pretty clear that this game is going to be the same but different, which is sort of par for the course for the series. Still, it's interesting to see what Nintendo's developers choose to change and/or when they revisit the courses in the long-running all-star kart racing franchise. As long it stays ridiculously fun, the recycling probably doesn't matter much.

    So beautiful. So, so beautiful.

    I CALL DIDDY.

    ...

If he's even in the game, but even if he isn't! DIDDY!

He has not been in Mario Kart. He has his own Kart racer. Diddy Kong Racing.

Who did I play in Mario Kart Wii then? Was it a dream? Haha!

Edit: Whoa, that comes off as crazy sarcastic. Not intentional, btw. :D

I'm sure he was in Mario Kart Double Dash as well...

Yeah. He's in Double Dash with Donkey Kong and he's unlockable in Mario Kart on the Wii.

ohh haha :) I completely forgot about the wii lol :P

except he was in double dash, wii and mario kart 8

SO let me get this straight, track widened and you can drive underwater....way to ruin the hard track
