As if three movie villains weren’t enough, Electro and the Green Goblin are are joined by the ugliest Kingpin ever, bad-hair-lighting Black Cat and… is that Carnage? Yeah, Parker is screwed.
Activision tried to sneak a little Carnage into the trailer, but I can smell a Cleetus a mile away. It helps that I was already tuned in to ugly, because this is seriously the most hideous version of Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin that I’ve ever seen.
We can probably write off Black Cat as a real threat — not because she’s a woman, but because we know from the comics that she and Peter have that whole Batman/Catwoman thing going on, in an entirely not-a-ripoff sort of way. It’s the reverse dynamic of Kraven the Hunter, who narrates positively here but we know will eventually shoot himself in the head with a shotgun.
The “It’s Looking Bad” in the headline has a double meaning here, because it’s really not just the Kingpin — all of these villains look pretty bad. Beenox is bringing back two-handed web-slinging (each controller trigger controls a different hand), so ultimately the graphics don’t mean jack to me, but for now — ick.

OH! Finally! I hope this is like the Arkham games! Spiderman is my favourite comic besides x-men.
