PAX South Takes The Show To Texas In 2015

The Penny Arcade Expo takes another step towards global domination today, with the announcement of PAX South. The fourth instalment of the massive fan celebration of gaming is set to debut in San Antonio, Texas January 23-25.

Living in the South myself, making it to one of the two existing US PAX events is a problem. Our New York crew has PAX East handled this weekend, which is why I am sitting at home all by myself. PAX Prime in Seattle is pretty much on the opposite end of the country from me, and PAX Australia takes place on a completely different planet. It’s nice to know Penny Arcade has me covered.

In the words of PA president Robert Khoo, via press release:

“Since its launch in 2004, PAX events have doubled in size almost every year, and our Seattle and Boston events represent the two largest gaming festivals in North America. We’ve been hearing for years that those in the south had a tough time making it to the northern corners of the country; PAX South has always been a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if.’”

When I first saw the news my heart jumped, hoping the show was going to be held in Atlanta, and I wouldn’t have to even leave town. The press release keeps mentioning PAX South is going to “debut” in San Antonio, so maybe they can move it to a real city in 2016.
