Zero Suit Samus is in the new Smash Bros., and she has some rather interesting footwear. Which, if we’re being honest, should put her at a competitive disadvantage.
Comic artist Natasha Allegri knows how to make things fairer. Don’t take Samus’ stupid heels off. Put stupid heels on everyone else.
Bowser, you are killing it.

I think this is a GREAT idea. I, for one, would love to see this as a feature in Smash Bros.
Lets pick on a character that has high heels. “That’s totally unrealistic”. As opposed to pink balls that suck people in, yellow rats that electrocute people or giant gorillas that wear ties.
Let it go already. Who cares what she’s wearing (or not), I just want to play the damn game.
It is not that it is unrealistic, is that it is pointlessly stereotypical sexist. It would be like changing all the females outfits so that their cleavage is showing and doing nothing to the males
How is it sexist? What is sexist about a woman wearing high heels? Why does it even really matter?
Maybe they should show a lump in Mario’s pants. Would that make your PC ass happy?

It’s sexist because in this regard because a female character is having an impractical piece of clothing attributed to her specifically.
It matters because she was one of the most influential female gaming icons at one point.

Real mature son. Why don’t you go and go to every man who fights for women’s rights, then accuse them of eing gay while you’re at it. Seems like something you’d do.
Raiden from Metal Gear Rising wore girly heels btw, no one kicked a fuss about that.
Also, Samus never wore heels anyway, Samus always wore boots. People are upset that they 1) Change her outfit and 2) Changed her outfit to make it idiotic and cater to morons.
I get the upset over changing the outfit, lets face it, it’s not like they would change Mario’s look, so why her right? But I don’t really see the point of making it about the TYPE of shoe instead of that it’s not the same shoe.
Personally, I think they look nice, sporty and like you could hurt someone with them. That said I don’t like them ON HER but I also don’t think its sexist. I do think that its a small ‘betrayal’ to the fans of the character and the character, as much as changing Sonic in the last Sonic game.
I don’t think this is sexist, sexist isn’t long hair or heels. It’s abusing sex appeal: Skimpy cloths, cleavage etc like MGS.
Having done drama in highschool I played around in heels myself due to said drama classes, let me tell you now that yes heels can hurt if you stood on with them. They are not useful for sprinting, sliding, side-stepping, jumping, or doing somersaults in. 100% impractical footwear for any kind of strenuous activity.
It’s sexist because in this regard because a female character is having an impractical piece of clothing attributed to her specifically be Samus is a ‘her’. Look, I don’t even own a Wii(U), I got my XBone, but this is clearly a sexist move because they think she looks sexier in heels. “IF” you still think it isn’t sexist and then there is nothing wrong with heels, why don’t armed forces of any country supply heels to their employees, because they’re impractical and stupid and weak.
Side note: I never like Smash Brothers anyway, always reminded of those wrestling games and I couldn’t never figure out how much health someone had.
It’s the OTHER-M EFFECT, Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *jumps out nearest window*
Doesn’t seem like a convenient choice of clothing if your off to fight. Then again none of the girls in Dead or Alive know how to dress for a punch up. I guess its mild by comparison.
Link is strutting his stuff like hes out in the town on a Saturday night.
He’s a Link who really likes his night life
And by day he really likes to play
You can all find him pumping at the gym
At the Hyrule Y.M.C.A.!
Character model looks very similar to Bayonetta now with those shoes, perhaps its so you can unlock a bayonetta costume for Samus without having to do major model changes.
That’s what I thought.
Raiden wears High Heals when he fights.
Anyway women stole those shoes from men to begin with.
