This week is the equivalent of finding a $20 note in your jacket pocket. I forgot about this, hurray! I totally forgot that Child of Light was coming out this week, but here it is! I am excited!
BloodRayne Betrayal
What is it? This is a side-scrolling slasher that came out in 2011 on consoles. So surprised to see this just coming out on PC…
Should you care? I don’t think so.
Child of Light (Xbox One/PS4/PC)
What is it? A supremely gorgeous JRPG style platformer that is also an attempt to create a modern fairytale.
Should you care? It’s the game I’m personally most excited about this week. Impossible to understate how goddamn good it looks.
Croixleur Sigma (PC)
What is it? A hack and slash game with a JRPG aesthetic and one of the most horrible fonts I’ve ever seen.
Should you care? Personally, I think this looks a little bit cheap and naff. I’m passing on it.
Daylight (PS4/PC)
What is it? Describes itself as a procedurally generated psychological thriller where the only source of light is your phone. Whoa. It’s also the first game to use the Unreal Engine 4.
Should you care? Well, I don’t know about you, but I think this sounds like a cracker idea for a game. Hopefully it lives up to the concept.
Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS)
What is it? Mario is playing golf with all his buddies in tow. You know the drill.
Should you care? It’s not that this game will be bad, in fact it’s probably quite good. It’s just… I don’t know. Maybe it is worth playing, but it’s not something I’ll be buying.
Slip (PC)
What is it? It’s sort of like Ikaruga, but a platformer. Which means it’s sort of like Aussie made game Fractured Soul.
Should you care? I think this looks great. I think you should investigate, particularly if you like the idea of a platformer that’s sort of like Ikaruga.
What are you planning on picking up this week? Let us know in the comments below…

This week in games I finally get Trials Fusion on PS4 that’s all that needs to be said.
Good call. The servers on the Xbox One are borked.
I was originally going to get it on PC but have my doubts that my laptop will handle it very well/at all.
I was a bit down about not having a ps4 for Trials, but playing it on PC with a PS controller feels totally whack after 360ing previous titles.
Yeeeeeeeeee!
Is Daylight DD or retail?
I believe it is digital only.
There is something about the Mario Golf games that although I generally have no interest in golf what so ever I always find myself playing them and enjoying them for a long, long time.
High quality series. Early reviews seem to indicate that it’s pretty neato.
Same developers as the Everybody’s Golf games on PlayStation which are all absolutely sublime.
I am ridiculously excited for Mario Golf. Played the other iterations to death (complete finishes multiple times). Need me some new Golf! GIMME
Is Child of Light really only able to run on new hardware?
It’s definitely being released on the WiiU. I’m pretty sure it’s on the older consoles too.
oooo…if it’s on the Wii U I might dust it off for a play. I need to make sure it works before Mario Kart shenanigans in May anyway.
only just noticed child of light last night while i was screwing around on my wii u… (yes its coming to more than just Xbone, PC and PS4 – i can see listings for wii u and ps3 and i assume 360 is out there too)… theres no doubt its beautiful… it uses the same engine as rayman legends and we all know that looks great with its hand drawn art style… wasn’t on my radar but it is now!
enjoyed the mario golf demo… don’t want to pay $50 for it though so i’ll hold off for a bit…
will look into daylight, sounds interesting!
(just checked the child of light official site, its on pretty much all the major platforms)
just waiting for Watchdogs to grace my PC 🙂
Pre-ordered Child of Light last Night, can’t wait!
I only want it for the rhyming dialogue, though. That kinda’ thing is great.
Super excited for Child of Light.
Got the Deluxe Edition of Child Of Light pre-ordered for PS3/PS4, but I’ll be buying the XBone version too, and possibly the 360 version (for double achievements).
