We’ve already shown a bit of the photogrammetry technology that Polish dev studio The Astronauts will be using to pull images from the real world into the game engine they’re using to make psychological horror game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The video above — where Astronaut artist Izabela Zelmańska turns a scan of her own face into something terrifying — represents the steps that come after the picture-taking. It’s where digital manipulation takes the raw material of reality and turns it into something fantastical.
