DeviantART artist Ann Marcellino’s take on the Sailor Soldiers is really unique; they rather look like characters from a modern-day western cartoon than from an anime. The long awaited Sailor Moon reboot debuts on July 5 with an all new look, but I’d watch something like this as well to see how it turns out.
Here are some highlights from the artist’s gallery. Check out her DeviantART page for more:

I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a Western cartoon that looked like this. Let alone a modern one, which (let’s be honest with ourselves) would be fucking 3D CGI, not hand-drawn 2D.
It looks reminiscent of the new PPG style.
Samurai Jack?
agreed
You know, I wouldn’t mind if they rebooted Sailor Moon in the style of Yamato 2199…
sailormoon crystal is in production – basically a reboot… maybe?

There almost was.
Toon makers planned to do a live-action/animation hybrid show, though all that exists is a camrip of a promotional trailer and some more recently found character design sheets.
Find some one that can draw them as Disney characters then i’ll bite.
