Magic: The Gathering has, over the years, lured some of the best fantasy artists on the planet to draw some of the coolest fantasy characters on the planet. So this line of action figures based on some of the best are a no-brainer.
Amazingly, these will be the first official Magic figures in over a decade. And they look like they will have been worth the wait.

These are all pretty cool.
But… why the heck did they include Nissa? One of he most forgettable and unremarkable walkers?
Why not Venser? Sorin? Elspeth?
Heck why not a non-walker? I’d kill for there to be a figure of Elesh Norn.
Because it’s the original Lorwyn Five planeswalkers as well as Nissa.
Current speculation is that Nissa is included as a Return to Zendikar is likely in the near future and a green planeswalker is needed for this coming M15 Core Set as Garruk is rumored to be Black/Green due to the curse that Liliana put on him.
Also Venser is dead and Elspeth is dead for the short term til WOTC wish to bring her back (Theros underworld).
Of course the above is all speculation. Personally I’d love me a Sarkhan.
All they need now is a 80’s inspired cartoon series
What about really oldschool ones like Serra Angel and Sengir Vampire?
