Shawn Thorsson, master props builder and costume maker, has outdone himself this time with a life-size, movie-quality replica of RoboCop’s ED-209.
Fulfilling a life-long dream of actually owning an ED-209, the behemoth only took around 3 months to build (albeit three months of very hard work), and while originally intended to be just a static replica, Thorsson and his dad ended up installing some actuators in the joints so that it could swivel and move its elbows.
If you want to see it, he says it will be on display in the lobby of MAKE Magazine for a little while (for whom he also shot a neat series of making-of videos).
