Jean-Marc Emy is an artist who has won awards for his architectural illustration. He’s also worked in video games, books and magazines. What’s interesting here is that few of these illustrations are actually from games, but they all look like they could/should be.
So many game artists are fantastic at the little things, like characters and vehicles, but few can capture the real joy (and believability) of architecture like a guy who knows what he’s doing with buildings. And Jean-Marc certainly knows what he’s doing.
Note that while some of these are clearly fictional, others are more grounded in the present day, making them look more like the cities of the near future.
You can see more of Jean-Marc’s work at his personal site and ArtStation page.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios.
