This probably isn’t the most important comparison you’re going to make today, but it might be the most interesting. If only because it puts into perspective just how damn big The Wall really is.
Max Fleishman and Theresa Garritano made these awesome infographics for The Daily Dot that compare various elements of Game of Thrones against real-world counterparts.
Some are predictable, but others were surprising. I had never imagined Westeros to be that big, instead just figuring it took so long to travel its roads because its roads sucked and were full of people trying to stab you in the face.

I had always assumed that it was roughtly the same size as the British isles since the story pulls so much out of British history (War of the Roses etc.) and the Wall is basically Hadrian’s Wall.
I thought the exact same thing, I guess I now understand why arya has been travelling with the hound for a whole damn season.
