The open-world racer will come to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, reports IGN. Forza Horizon 2 is being developed mostly by Playground Games, who are collaborating closely with original Forza developers Turn 10 games on the project.
“Hundreds” of cars will be present in the sequel, according to the developers — the setting is Southern Europe, and the game’s plot will revolve around a local music festival.
Technology-wise, Forza Horizon 2 will introduce an all-new weather system, and Forza 5’s cloud-based Drivatar AI will be present as well.
Forza Horizon 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2014 for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

YES! Forza Horizon is probably one of the most fun racing games I’ve played without being outright fantasy.
No more free-to-play bullshit with your full priced games thanks Microsoft.
Forza 5 did a lot to turn me off the series. I won’t consider this game if it has a real world currency system.
I like it, but what I found weird is my friend who usually likes Forza said he hated Horizon.
That is weird, I love the regular Forza games but I also really love the fact that Forza Horizon is still the closest thing I have come across to a realistic open world driving game. It would be nice to see a few more hardcore options implemented in this one but regardless I love both for their strengths. I can’t wait!
That’d be cause Horizon is more arcade then simulator.
I owned Horizon and I thought for the most part is was fun but it was lacking the ability to have different tuning setups for each car and they handled poorly compared to Forza 4.
I eventually made my way back to Forza 4 and sold horizon.
I wonder if this means they can use the weather stuff in mainline Forza games?
