The dubious quality of Nintendo’s eateries has been a touchy subject for a while now, and that saga continues with the temporary closure of a vendor operating at Nintendo of America’s headquarters.
According to a detail listed in a recent update on the public health section of the King County website, the food vendor “I Love Sushi @ Nintendo” was closed in late May.
Here’s the relevant excerpt:

Closed: May 20, 2014 at 1:55 pm
Reasons:
- Potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures.
- Inadequate facilities to control temperature of potentially hazardous food, hot holding.
- Operating without a valid permit.
The vendor has since reopened.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata had to address the issue of poor food at Nintendo Japan’s headquarters recently, after it came up during the company’s annual shareholder meeting last summer.
CORRECTION – This story originally reported that main cafeteria on the NoA campus, Cafe Mario, had been closed. This was inaccurate.
