The World’s Largest Video Game Collection Just Sold For $750,000

Towards the end of 2013, the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that Michael Thomasson was in possession of the world’s largest and greatest video game collection. Now he has sold all 11,000+ video games for a mind boggling $750,250.

I can’t decide which who got the better of the deal here. The buyer, who picked up an insane collection, which will probably continue to grow in value, or the seller who just landed a huge chunk of cash.

The winning bidder was ‘peeps_10091970’, who pipped rival bidder ‘catch123’ to the post on GameGavel, where the auction was being held. Michael sold his collection to “address the needs” of his family. Hopefully this huge amount of cash will cover the costs!

The collection is truly spectacular. You can check out more pics of Michael’s games here.
