What ‘The Cloud’ Actually Looks Like

The cloud. Microsoft would have you think it’s the real power behind the Xbox One. Google would have you think it’s a magical place where everything is kept. Pity, then, that it’s not quite as magical as that, even if the truth is interesting in its own way.

Filmmaker Timo Arnal has made Internet Machine, a documentary that takes us through one of the world’s biggest data centres, located in Spain.

It’s not really designed to be watched on a computer screen though; Arnal made it to be enjoyed on large, multi-panel screens (like you’d find in a gallery or museum), where you can be immersed in a virtual environment.

Kinda reminds me of what a next-gen Mirror’s Edge game would look like if they didn’t need the white/red aesthetic…
