Briefly: SNK Playmore confirmed to Siliconera that a new 3D King of Fighters game is in development. The company didn’t provide any further details, and it’s currently in the process of “large scale developer hiring” for the new game.

unless they can make it look as good as Guilty Gear Xrd, i’m kinda sad it’s not gonna be 2D sprites….
I’m still holding out (futile) hope that Capcom and SNK Playmore will team up for a Capcom vs SNK 3 and SNK Playmore will handle the sprite work.
Wasn’t there an attemp in the past to make it a 3D fighting game? I can’t remember.
Then again by todays standards it might turn out really awesome. I’ll keep my hopes up
