This Week In Games

Seems like I might have exaggerated the whole ‘here comes the flood’ thing. Another week with pretty much zip zero. Madden is out this week, as is the pretty cool Metro Redux package. But that’s yer whack a big releases.

Appointment With F.E.A.R. (PC)

What is it? An interactive graphic novel about superheroes and whatnot.
Should you care? I don’t know enough about this to judge, but sounds interesting.

Bird Assassin (PC)

What is it? A 2D platforming shooter that looks half terrible half hilarious.
Should you care? This might be a bit of throwaway fun.

Draconian Wars (PC)

What is it? It’s a card game. Those seem to be the latest thing. In a year’s time I reckon I’ll be whinging about this instead of retro-style 2D platformers.
Should you care? I don’t know enough about card games, but Hearthstone exists, so there’s that. Might be hard to recommend this over Hearthstone.

Lethal League (PC)

What is it? You know the Ganon boss fight in every Zelda ever? Batting magic like a tennis ball back and forth? That’s Lethal League, in two-player Street Fighter II form.
Should you care? This looks cool. Has slick animation, a cool high concept.

Madden NFL 2015 (Xbox One/PS4/360/PS3)

What is it? Well, it’s Madden. A new one. You know the drill.
Should you care? Goes without saying you have to be a fan of NFL, but this tends to be of a high quality.

Metro: Redux (PS4/PC)

What is it? One of those schmancy remakes for next-gen consoles.
Should you care? I think this might be a great package. Especially worthwhile on consoles. I’m super keen.

Super Time Force Ultra (PC)

What is it? A platformer with dinosaurs and time travel. SOLD.
Should you care? This has been getting some seriously solid reviews. Sounds worth checking out.
