A First Glimpse At Torment: Tides of Numenera

It's only the most heavily funded video game in Kickstarter history. It's only the game that made its initial funding target in six hours. Yep, Torment: Tides of Numenera, the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment is a big deal, as is this early look at the game itself.

It's looking great so far, and I say this as someone who — be gentle — didn't actually play Planescape: Torment. So if I'm watching this and thinking, 'hey, I would like to play this' I can only imagine what the incredibly vocal and intense Planescape fanbase is thinking.

I'm imagining mass hysteria. Pleasure so intense it borders on the painful. Have a watch at this and survive if you can.

    An terrible title error.

EDIT: And they fixed it now, only took an hour too. Perhaps a sanity edit before post should be policy?

I haven't played Planscape either. It's my secret shame. I own it on GOG and installed it with all the mods, but... forgot to actually play it. :S Looking forward to Wasteland, Numenera and Pillars of Eternity though.

    "An First Glimpse" hahahahahahaha

I've mostly been ignoring the backer emails I get. Every now and again I'll actually read one, and everytime I do it makes me smile. I think this will be to cRPGs what Shovel Knight was to platformers; "how you remember [them], not how they actually were".

FFS, Awesome looking RPGs. I don't play RPGs anymore. They're too time consuming. Looks crazy good though.

I'm liking the graphical style of this over Pillars of Eternity, namely how they render character models onto the world. PoE character models just look... old and dated, where as this looks clean and new while retaining the aesthetic style they're going for I guess.
