This Week In Game: Bros SMASH

This week is Super Smash Bros. week. Time for me to do that thing where I spend two hours trying to find my 3DS charger.

Assassin’s Creed: Birth of a New World – The American Saga (360/PS3)

What is it? It’s that Assassin’s Creed multipack featuring Assassin’s Creed 3, Black Flag and Liberation.
Should you care? Great little package. Well worth getting.

Forza Horizon 2 (360/Xbox One)

What is it? Seriously, how do these guys get Forza games out so quick and maintain the quality?
Should you care? Apparently this is another top notch racer. What did you expect?

Khet 2.0 (PC)

What is it? A video game version of an award-winning board game that is super cerebral and tough.
Should you care? If you are super smart and like torturing/growing your grey matter, but all means look into this one.

METAL SLUG X (PC)

What is it? They still make these? That’s crazy.
Should you care? I’d play Broforce instead. That game is crazy good.

NAtURAL DOCtRINE (PS4/PS Vita)

What is it? A turn-based strategy game.
Should you care? Not bad. Not great. Not much else to say about this.

Pier Solar and the Great Architects (PC)

What is it? A turn-based RPG with top down Secret of Mana-esque visuals.
Should you care? It looks glorious actually, in the way it mixes old visual aesthetics with modern day lighting. I don’t know much about the game itself though…

Shadow Puppeteer (PC)

What is it? A co-op puzzler that plays on opposing forces of light and shadow.
Should you care? This is such a cool concept, and the execution looks gorgeous. It blows my mind how many cool games Steam has that I haven’t even heard of.

Silence of the Sleep (PC)

What is it? A horror puzzler with a gloriously grainy aesthetic.
Should you care? This looks intriguing. Love games that just plays ‘dartboard genre’ and combines random genres for the hell of it.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (PC)

What is it? The latest in that Sherlock Holmes series.
Should you care? Apparently it might actually end up being pretty good. Folks clamouring after an adventure game with high production values should investigate.

Skylanders Trap Team (360/PS3/Wii/Xbox One/PS4/3DS)

What is it? It’s a new Skylanders game. Bye bye money.
Should you care? Skylanders is still the king of this, ‘make parents broke’ toy/video game phenomenon.

Super Smash Bros. (3DS)

What is it? IT’S HEEERRRRRRRREEEEEE!
Should you care? Come on man. It’s Smash Bros. You already know whether you care or not.

The Talos Principle (PC)

What is it? A first-person puzzle game with a dream team of indie developers behind it.
Should you care? Apparently this game is quite special. Fans of Portal or Antichamber will want to look into this.

TinyKeep (PC)

What is it? A gorgeous looking, top down, procedurally generated dungeon slasher.
Should you care? This is a bit of a surprise package for me, but it looks glorious. Looks like it could be a great little time waster.
