After the barnstorming release of Destiny, this week feels like a bit of a come-down. It’s hardly as dead as July and August, but there is a dearth of BIG AAA SUPER DUPER GAMES. The biggest releases this week? Most likely Disney Infinity 2.0 and Hyrule Warriors. Neither float my boat, but your mileage may vary.
Boson X (PC)
What is it? An endless grid runner thing.
Should you care? Originally on mobiles and it shows. Probably a bit flimsy and basic for PC.
Disney Infinity 2.0 (Xbox 360/PS3/Xbox One/PS4/Wii U/PS Vita)
What is it? It’s the Disney thing that’s like Skylanders and has a license to print money.
Should you care? I know a fair few adults who are obsessed with this. Not my thing.
Doorways: The Underworld (PC)
What is it? A first person horror game.
Should you care? This looks a little half-baked to me.
Great Permutator (PC)
What is it? Remember Pipemania? It’s sort of like that except with boxes.
Should you care? This looks quite fun. I’m a sucker for these kind of puzzle games.
Hero of Many (PC)
What is it? An ex-mobile game where you lead a swarm of water being through increasingly difficult levels.
Should you care? Whoa… how did I miss this on mobile? This game looks incredible. I need to play this.
Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
What is it? Combines Zelda with Dynasty Warriors. What could go wrong?
Should you care? Despite being a massive Zelda fan, I just can’t muster up enthusiasm for this.
Pro Rugby Manager 2015 (PC)
What is it? Wait, they make those Football Manager style sims for Rugby? Whoa…
Should you care? Man, I used to love Championship Manager as a teenager. I’m sure there are people out there in Australia who would love this.
Reprisal Universe (PC)
What is it? A homage to Populous with the aesthetics of Minecraft.
Should you care? This looks quite unique. And there aren’t enough ‘God’ games out there for my liking. Investigate!
SPACECOM (PC)
What is it? A strategic space fleet command game.
Should you care? I like the minimalism of it. I think this will appeal to a specific niche.
The Waste Land (PC)
What is it? A metroidvania inspired by T.S. Eliot’s classic modernist poem. How can this not be the best game ever made?
Should you care? Actually, it looks a little average. That’s a shame. Has a helluva one line pitch.

Theatrhythm Curtain Call this week too!
Looking forward to Hyrule Warriors. Never played a Dynasty Warriors game so it will be interesting to say the least!
$55 on Ozgameshop and 10% discount for today only. Good deal. You’ll just have to wait a bit for the postage.
Isn’t Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Curtain Call also out this week on the 18th? That game and Hyrule Warriors are the two I’m waiting for.
Is Hyrule Warriors the open world skyrim looking one? or nah? not sure if interested or not.
Nah that’s the new Legend of Zelda, next year. Looks like a Studio Ghibli film in a game.
If the open-world Zelda is what you’re looking for, I suspect Hyrule Warriors will be a gigantic disappointment.
It’s got nothing in common with the Zelda you know except the setting, characters, and the console you play it on.
ahh im itching for a Wii U zelda game. so i might look up Dynasty Warriors and see if i enjoy that. Or just wait for the one next year.
Have a go, by all means. Don’t take my word for it.
Just hold on to your receipt!
My general impression of Dynasty Warriors: most people find it boring and repetitive. Definitely has a cult following though that are obsessed with playing every single iteration over and over again.
I think Dynasty Warriors isn’t bad the first time you play it, its just that its literally the same game every time.
The Coop was always fun.
Yeah im hearing that from a lot of people. I guess if im gonna give it a go might as well do it while its wearing zelda skin haha. will look it up this evening to see what the gameplays like.
Lack of enthusiasm is what I’m counting on for Hyrule Warriors. From what I understand it’s more or less a Dynasty Warrior’s mod, so if I go in with Zelda level enthusiasm I’m going to be let down.
On the plus side at the very least Hyrule Warrior’s saved me $4 on Wii U VC Zelda games. =P
Oh, Hyperule Warriors is this week? Guess I’ll have to look into that.
I was worried Destiny would take over my life and I wouldn’t get time to play Hyrule Warriors, but now I’m basically finished with it for the time being, so looking forward to trying the co-op in Hyrule this weekend.
yeah same. the grind aspects of destiny do nothing to interest me i just like the PVP occasionally and the story. didnt think i would be bored with it this quick, there really isn’t a lot of content for my $100 (sucker who payed for it as a digital download)
Looking ahead, I have nothing for the next few weeks… Driveclub looks to be my next pick up…
Still on the fence about Hyrule Warriors.
After trading in a bunch of games I didn’t stick with, I am determined to be extra picky with my game purchases this generation.
Theatrythm Curtain Call for me this week. MrsBS is also picking up Cooking Mama 5 😉
I still can’t work out what it is!
Wasteland 2 (pretty sure its on the 19th)
Nothing for me for a while! I’m saving up for the damn EB Games Expo.
Eliminage Gothic is out this week too. It’s probably something worth getting if you like the Wizardry series. Pre-orders will also net you the soundtrack and a digital art book.
