Alien: Isolation, Without All The Horrifying Parts

Alien: Isolation is a damn gorgeous game -- but sometimes that beauty is difficult to appreciate while you're playing, what with a bloodthirsty Alien on your trail and all that.

ultrabrilliant takes us on a reflective two-minute tour of the USCSS Nostromo from Alien: Isolation, and the results are stunning. Worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of Alien -- this hits juuust the right note.

Alien was tough to play for me. I'm the kind of guy that likes to take in every texture of every room. Read everything I can. Scour for all the logs and recordings. Being forced to rush for an exit was a heartbreaking thing for me. :'(

It does kinda suck, but the DLC at least gives you time to explore some of the Nostromo before handing your arse to you. :)

There are some sections in the main campaign that you can take your time on too. That noise in the air duct above you is merely atmosphere...so long as you don't drop a noisemaker. :D

I enjoyed those times. Still crouched like a mofo. :P

That's appealing to hear - maybe I'll try the DLC before giving up.

I don't want to watch this - I want to play this. Let me explore a big amazing space station without (too much) threat, please!

You can always do what I did with System Shock 2 when I was younger and use an invincibility cheat. Those midwives were a lot less scarier, then

Haha, if there were cheats for the PS4, I would be allllll over that. (One day I'll get a gaming PC).

Yeah, it'd be nice if they'd patch in some kind of free roam mode that would let you just wander around and admire what they've built, even if it only unlocked after finishing the campaign so as to not give up any spoilers. So far I've spent most of my time admiring it through the little slats in locker doors :P

    This is amazing!
I absolutely love the Alien universe. But I can never play this game, the whole thing scares me to death.
I'd actually quite like to read the whole story etc
