Now that PlayStation 4 players have had time to enjoy the more “casual” content of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, it’s time to get down to some serious endgame business. Patch 2.1.0 is will be available on the console today. Legendary loot follows.
While we’re still waiting on word for the patch for the Xbox One (it should be soon), PlayStation 4 players are already rummaging through the game’s Nephalem Rifts for Keystones of Trials. These items allow the player to venture into Greater Rifts, challenging tiered and timed dungeons where the bosses almost always drop legendary items. Gergo Vas wrote up a nifty little primer for the PC version of the feature here.
Also included in patch 2.1.0 is the Vault. When Treasure Goblins spawn in the game’s adventure mode, they now have a chance to open a portal to the Vault, a special new zone filled with treasures untold and overseen by the Baroness Greed, who sounds like she could use a good killing.
And what would Greater Rifts be without upgradeable Legendary Gems? These precious stones of power can be enhanced beyond belief by completing Greater Rifts, offering untold power to the persistent.
In short, there’s a damn good reason to swap out Destiny for Diablo III in your PlayStation 4 today. Check out the PlayStation Blog post for more info on the patch, and keep an eye out for the update, Xbox One players. You may have to wait, but at least you’re not playing the patchless Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions.
