Dreadnought’s Multiplayer Is Packed With Delicious Battleship Broadsides

Yager’s battleship duker Dreadnought (not to be confused with *cough* Deadnaut *cough*) is coming along nicely and seems on-track for release next year. However, I’ve wanted to see a bit more of the actual game and this video provides, showing off Dreadnought‘s 5v5 multiplayer.

It reminds me a lot of Stratosphere, which I’ve talked about before (and absolutely adored). That said, the ships here seem to move too quickly and don’t have that “heavy” battleship feel, but that has to be hard to balance against responsive controls, especially considering the video is showing off a multiplayer deathmatch. I’d argue that taking inertia and speed into consideration is what should help separate great captains from the good.

Not that I’d be engaging in much player-versus-player; the game has a meaty solo campaign, which is what I’m really looking forward to.
