Fall of Gods is an “illustrated book” that tells the story of a Norse warrior who, having lost his wife, sets out on an epic journey to get her back. By fighting a ton of monsters.
It’s not a comic or graphic novel; the book is a collection of large illustrations done by professional concept artists, with a script accompanying them that ties it all together. Imagine a kid’s picture book, then, only instead of watercolour rabbits there are two-page spreads with dragons and big swords.
The man in charge of the project is Rasmus Berggreen, whose work we’ve featured previously on Fine Art, though he’s also joined by the likes of writer Michael Vogt (Hitman) and Jan Ditlev Christensen.
You can see more pics, and read more about Fall of Gods, at its Kickstarter page.
To see the larger pics in all their glory (or, if they’re big enough, so you can save them as wallpaper), click on the “expand” button in the top-left corner.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios. If you’re in the business and have some concept, environment, promotional or character art you’d like to share, drop us a line!

Make it into a game. I want it!
Damn that’s gorgeous.
Also, perfect children’s book! Any son or daughter of mine would do well to have viking warriors as childhood heroes.
I grew up on these as a kid… Don’t be fooled by the cutesy drawings, they’re retelling the original norse mythology as comic books, complete with brutal fighting and nudity \o/ 😛
Bad. Ass.
God that’s tempting but $45 shipping just makes it a bit much
Yeah the shipping part killed it for me too 🙁
