Halo: The Master Chief Collection Will Come With A Halo 2 Documentary

And it's a documentary that I want to watch.

It appears to combine footage from the game's initial launch back in 2004, alongside insights into the remake itself according to this recently released teaser.

In a gaming environment where there are major launch at least every three or four months, it's easy to forget just how big a deal Halo 2 was when in launch on the original Xbox. It practically justified the existence of Xbox LIVE for years, and it was the very first midnight launch I attended.

It remains, probably, the game I've spent the most time playing. So many hours in matchmaking. So many hours trying to get that stupid level up. Good times indeed. Very much looking forward to reliving those times with the Halo: Master Chief Collection.

Nostalgia is an addictive drug dude.

      Too true.

Oddly enough I kind of had a reverse with Halo 2. I always had a less positive attitude to Halo 2 compared to Halo 1 (even if my initial reactions was full blown hype) but recently during my playthroughs and recording I found there was some positive elements to it. All the problems I had with the game are still there but I did notice other areas I overlooked. Or maybe it's because I'm so done with modern shooters that Halo 2 felt so fresh.

This isn't a criticism, but I think I'd get more out of the documentary than the game.

Yeah, other than Tribes, Halo2 would probably have the most hours of online I ever put in, or am ever likely to.

Looking forward to the doco, waiting for some reviews on the Halo Collection before plonking down the $$ though.

And it's only another 20 gigs to download.

    I'm joking... kind of.

Also, this documentary from the launch of Halo 2 is required viewing.

If only the game didn't end on the most disappointing cliffhanger ever in the history of the universe.
