Yesterday I headed into the Melbourne Convention Centre to pick up my pass for PAX Australia. The first thing I saw? A terrifying set of elephant sized Tetris blocks. Yep, this is PAX Australia alright.
This is my way of saying, “hey everyone, who’s going to PAX today?”
I’ll be there wandering around the show for most of the day, and then taking part in the ‘Realities of Writing About Games’ panel at the Fruitbat theatre at 5pm. Hope to see you there.
Folks who are heading to PAX today — what are you looking forward to? What panels are you going to check out? Let us know in the comments below.

In the top image, it looks like the green block is riding the blue block like a horse!
I’d say… something else…. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
[cannot unsee!]
It is also the testong site of line simulator 2014… now with points hoops.
Not PAXing. Live in Melbourne. Currently a 5 minute walk from Jeff’s Shed. Zero geek cred.
This is me also
…and me too.
Yay! We should all hold our own microPAXes wherever we are sitting. I might just go join a queue somewhere.
Standing in the queue to get in as I write. Showering seems optional for some attendees (again) this year. :S
Through the partially-opened doors I can see a glimpse of Logitech, Ubisoft and Bethesda all looking glorious.
If someone could just bring me a
coffee then I’d be all set.
Yeah i think they really need to put a clause in there or provide a mandatory deodorant spray down before entry into the site.
At least last year it was masked by the smell of horse shit.
Haha, I would be there with my friend from Queensland who DOESN’T have the obligation of HSC exams, alas mine don’t finish until Wednesday… 🙁 Really sucks to have had to sell my ticket, was really looking forward to going again.
stuck at work, have my Friday badge in the car, Come on 5 o’clock.
They had them there last year…
Man, I don’t know how many times I walked past those blocks without realising they were Tetris blocks.
The “Welcome Home” sign was a nice touch too.
