The EB Expo kicks off today, but the employees of EB Games have already had their run of the show over the last few days and, they’ve just announced what they think are the games and products on show at the event.
Game of Show: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Best Handheld Game: Super Smash Bros.
Best Booth: Bethesda
EB Live Choice: Xbox
Product of the Show: Plantronics RIG Headset
Is anyone heading to the show today or this weekend? I managed to head in last night to get a look at Microsoft and Sony’s offerings. Both seemed to have great line-ups. I recommend checking out the Bloodborne demo if you can. Also: I was very pleasantly surprised at Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer.
Word of warning: the Halo 2 Master Chief Collection? That multiplayer booth felt extremely strange, almost as if the TVs were suffering from severe input lag. At least I hope it was input lag. I need the Halo Master Chief Collection to be good!
If you’re heading to the show today — let us know! I’m taking part in a Games Journalism panel at 12.30 today. Hope to see you all there!

I’m wondering if EB Games pulled sway over WB Interactive to push back the release of Shadow of Mordor so they had an extra game at their show? The fact it has now won the game of the show is sure to lead to increased sales next week too.

I’m sorry Mark, I have some bad news. You see, nostalgia is a powerful drug, that’s how Halo 2 was back in the day. You can’t remember it because you are blinded by this substance.
You need help.
Shadow of Mordor is getting some REALLY good reviews and attention, but I still don’t get it for some reason! 😛
I was going to go to the Expo (one of the girls at EB in Parramatta did a great job of pitching it to me and the wife) but instead I spent all my money on a second Xbone.
I was going to go and then thought why bother PAX is only 4 weeks away.
Sadly PAX tickets went on sale right after I finished all my Christmas shopping last year.
I must plan better this year.
There are still a few tickets remaining…
I only recently became aware of that (along with scores of people who can’t make it dumping their weekend passes), but in any case we’ve opted to put it off to next year. Buy our tickets and plan travel/spending/holiday leave in advance.
I was there yesterday. I had lag with the chat on Sunset Overdrive, but no lag with Halo.
Bethesda’s booth was fantastic. And the staff were excellent.
