Someone did it for the first Dark Souls on PC, so of course it was going to happen for Dark Souls II.
What you’re seeing here is a hack that “tells the game’s camera to permanently stay zoomed in, giving you a first person perspective”. Technically, aside from a few little glitches, it works just fine. But in terms of difficulty and design…Dark Souls II is a game reliant upon timing and your positioning in the world relative to your enemies, so this is going to make a tough game tougher.
Still! If you want to try it out, there are download links in the vid description here.

I rolled with a sorcerer, have every sorcery, hex, pyromancy and miracle available and I can tell you the binoculars work wonders in this game. So much so that it feels like cheating most of the time.
With the first DLC, I stopped using it, and all that time spent sightseeing was finally making its effects known on me, I basically breezed through a huge part of the main game, and now that I’m not using the binoculars I had a hard time adjusting, but in the end it was worth it. I feel clean now.
By the way, I think King’s Field are considered to be the predecessors of the Souls games and they are in first person. I have Shadow Tower: Abyss for the PS2, it really feels like a Souls game, albeit creepier and harder.
