$30 Gets You The Australian Edition Of Cards Against Humanity

It didn't take long for the Kickstarter-funded Cards Against Humanity to become the defacto party game, eclipsing traditional favourites Charades, Pictionary and "Guess the Toe". The problem for Australians however was two-fold — the original game is full of American references, which are often unplayable and the pricey hoops you have to jump through to acquire a copy (unless you're happy to print it out).

This post was originally published on Gizmodo Australia.

Both problems have evaporated with the release of the Aussie edition, which you can buy directly from the CAH store for a very reasonable sum.

If you hit up the Cards Against Humanity website, you can now select "Australia" as a region, after which you'll be directed to the product page for the local version. $30 is all you need to get it and best of all, the price includes shipping.

You can grab the game's five expansions as well, but these are not localised, so be prepared to shift through these and pluck out the US references. Alternatively, just stick with the base game — $30 is a steal compared to your options locally, where you'll have to contend with a lack of stock and a price tag of $50 or more.

    0% goes to make-a-wish.. lol

i'm not sure if that's a typo or satire

Yeah, it's definitely a joke. You should see how their customer support responds to emails!

It's satire, each of the products have their own tongue-in-cheek tag at the end of the description. I believe one of the expansions said that it was now "dolphin-safe".

Yeah we have a rule if you have no idea who the person is or they are just too American you discard and draw a new one. Fortunately I seem to get the well known or universal answers.

My sister picked up the big black box just in time for Christmas in the hope we'll enjoy this one. From the sounds of it we will.

If you have a Chromecast and a few android devices, I recommend CardCast https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cardcastgame.android.app - free multiplayer app that plays Cards Against Humanity on your TV. Works really well :-)

Now I can torture the family with this when we camp at xmas. mwahahahahaaaaa

How about the 2012 and 2013 holiday expansion packs. Are they also american localised?

A suggestion I submitted made it into the game. its the answer card "Tony Abbott in budgie smugglers". I drew the card while me and some friends were playing at PAX on Friday and I was so freaking excited. I couldn't believe they added it.

i cant see why they wouldnt put it in seeing as is one to the oldest sights/insults that gets directed at abbot

There was a really good one about Harold Holt emerging from the sea in a time he was needed most

I picked up the UK Edition while travelling, thinking it was my best chance to get it. Now I'm tempted to get another copy, despite many of the cards likely being identical.

It'd be nice if the localised cards were marked so I could combine the two sets without duplicates.

Their display at PAX was incredible. Reminded me a lot of the Colbert Report set. I saw a marching band in front of it, playing some grand song for seemingly absolutely no reason (there was nothing going on at the time).
