Final Fantasy XV's World Is Freakin' Enormous

Last week, Square Enix showed off some of the world where Final Fantasy XV takes place. It looks huge. As you can see in the video, you can freely explore the field. If you like, you can can stop at gas stations and rest. When running in the field, your party members get tired and stop as would real people.

If you get too close to the creatures, you'll have to fight them. There are other animals, like cats and birds, that are smaller. You can wander through the forest and climb hills and mountains. There are Chocobo you can ride. You can fish in the lake. You can walk or go anywhere you can see.

The number of active monsters increases at night, so it's best to take cover at a place like the gas station.

What was shown is featured in the Episode Duscae demo, and it is ten per cent (10分の1) of the entire Final Fantasy XV field. The demo will be available with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, available in March 2015.

Hmm. Final Fantasy XV looks cool, but I've learned the hard way that you shouldn't trust Square-Enix. Even if it turns out to be a great game, I probably won't get a PS4 or a XB1 for it. I'll just wait and see if it ends up on Steam.

      Don't expect it anytime soon.

I won't. It took FF XIII over four years to hit Steam. But I'd rather wait and see if it does end up on Steam someday rather than purchase a PS4 for it right now.

You'll be waiting longer than [obligatory half-life 3 joke].

True r.e Sq-En. When this comes out, I can imagine the world will fell rather bland and lifeless. Fingers crossed.

This is super cool. It looks like a surreal Australian countryside

A tag line for this game should be Final Fantasy XV: All the things we learned from Xenoblade Chronicles.

looks like the first time you get beaten by a mammoth or giants from skyrim

Looks pretty but there seems to be an AWFUL lot of running around big, mostly empty spaces...

    Running Simulator 2015.

Looks pretty dull to be honest, alot of just running around in bland empty spaces that look like they should be getting skipped. This is 10% of the area, that I would believe. Bigger in this case, isn't necessarily better.
