Steam sales are great for the big hitters, Humble Bundle sales are great for the indie games you forgot to pick up. But when Good Old Games has a sale, you know it’s time to stock up on that nostalgia. System Shock 2, Sim City 2000, every Wing Commander game ever, Thief, Ultima, Populous, Leisure Suit Larry.
Sweet Jesus. This is beautiful.
There are an absolute metric buttload of games on sale here. Consider yourself warned: it’s going to be nigh on impossible to click on this without buying something. I’m treading on dangerous ground right now.
It’s worth noting that it’s not just old games on sale here, there are plenty of newer releases on sale here too: I spotted Fez, FTL and the pre-order for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This is a pretty spectacular sale actually.

Nope, don’t need anything, won’t play it, not going to buy anythi…HOLY SHIT, UT 2004!
I see Rogue Legacy – if you don’t have it, it’s about $4 and worth maybe 30 hours of your time.
That is a fantastic game. I’m currently on my 3rd play through on PS4.
I cannot for the life of me seem to beat any of the Neo bosses >.
Where’s the console games..oh. 🙁

GOG is an absolutely fantastic site! Can’t wait for them to release their Steam competitor, I’m getting sick of Steam’s shit!
Yeah, all those mega cheap deals are so horrible, screw steam!
Their sales are great, but their new releases are normally big on the Australia tax (I personally use Green Man Gaming for all my purchases) and they have been letting some crap games on there which are screwing over consumers. (Just look at the Air Control and Slaughtering Grounds controversies)
GOG will have the publishers asking for the same OZTAX.
Even in the sales it will often be something like $3 US vs $7 AU.
Wing Commander you say?
Read this is Zoidberg’s voice.
Haha too true 😛
You really should include a LINK to the sale, as this article was a bit confusing. 🙂 Found it QUITE hard to actually track down where the sale was happening. Maybe I’m just a noob. 🙂
Bit disappointed the LucasArts games aren’t on sale, but then I wasn’t really expecting them to be. It’s only been a few weeks since they went up on GOG after all.
I’d still gladly pay $50 for TIE Fighter.
So Mark,
Did you log in 7 days in a row to GOG, to score your FREE copy of Witcher 2?
Now THAT was a good promotion.
My pile of shame grows like an overfed beast squatting on my hard drive. But I am compelled to keep feeding the monster!
I was about to pass it by but there is that one damn game I always wanted to but no er got the chance to play and only for $3.50.i can not argue that.
Looking at some of the games now, Total Annihilation is $3.49AU, an absolute must buy for the RTS player in you.
Just bought both Twinsen games and Deathtrap Dungeon game for $10.40, fucking bargain.
Oh dear god it’s payday and the kids need food and, and… sooo shiny…
