New Amiibo Figures Include Wind Waker Link, Mega Man & Sonic

Yes, we only just got our hands on the first wave of Amiibo figures. But Nintendo is moving fast, and today showed off next batch of their NFC toys. Your wallets may be in grave danger.

There's Wind Waker Link. Sonic. Bowser. Mega Man. Rosalina. Sheikh. Sheikh!!

They will be out on January 22 in Japan. Pity the Smash Bros characters still without a plastic companion.

I just don't have the money or space to keep collecting Skylanders, Disney Infinity Figures and these.

Sorry Skylanders, It was nice knowing you,

Personally, I didn't enjoy Skylanders Trap Team as much as I did with Swap Force. Couldn't even complete the game due to the fact traps are selling out everywhere.

Interesting that the third party characters are getting in on these.

Also really hoping that the final figures still have some of the cool little details on them - check out the seams on Dedede's gloves!

May just be painted on, can't quite tell.

From the look of the part near the thumb on his left hand, it looks like they are actually... uh, lumpy?

Yeah, I fear that level of detail won't be present in the final release, look at Peach, the pattern on her dress was inlaid, now it's just painted on.

They may have taken note of that and used actual production models (if they have any yet) for this release. You hear a lot about Nintendo being out of touch but a few things I've heard from them over the years seems to indicate they keep an ear to the ground.

Wind Waker Link, you shall be mine! Hopefully they look like this and don't have that craptacular feel after production.

What will the final product look like though?
