JoJo fans rejoice, it looks like there’s a new game coming your way. Let’s hope it’s not as DLC-ridden as the last.
The game is being developed by Bandai Namco and the ad gives the atmosphere of a spiritual successor to the last JoJo game, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle. Unlike All-Star Battle, however, Eyes of Heaven looks to feature 3D stages and will apparently allow players to fight in teams. The game will be released on the PS4 and PS3.
Further indication that the game will likely be a successor to All-Star Battle is the fact that the magazine article advertises the addition of the two characters, Diego Brando and Rudol von Stroheim to the game.
Online response to the new game has been mixed, as All-Star Battle was notoriously heavily lauded for its over-abundance of social-game nickel and diming tactics. Online message board 2ch was abuzz with speculation.
My faith is being tested
Who’s the developer?
I hope it’s a light fighting game like Gundam Extreme Versus. 2D one on one fighting games are too hard for me.
It’s a tag battle 3D action game so it’s probably like J-Stars Victory VS.
I preordered All-Star Battle, but I’m waiting this one out.
Hm? Could it be a JoJo version of Smash Bros.?
It’s a sequel to ASB. Otherwise saying Diego and Stroheim are joining wouldn’t make sense.
By “tag battle” they mean 4 characters in the field and not switching characters? I don’t think such a game matches with JoJo… I guess I won’t be able to tell unless actually I see it. Maybe I’ll go to Jump Festa.
Really? If it’s a normal action game then I’ll welcome it. But I won’t buy it on launch day.
We’re contacting Bandai Namco to confirm all the details, but for now, it looks like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is scheduled for release on the PS3 and PS4. No release date has been set yet and no word on a Western release.
A playable demo of the game will be made available at the upcoming Jump Festa on Saturday.
