Simon Stålenhag is a Swedish artist who has done concept art for film, commercials and video games. He’s also half of the development team behind 16-bit platformer Ripple Dot Zero. You’ll notice a theme running throughout his work. Like Super 8, if Super 8 had been any good.
You can see more of Simon’s work (and buy his art book) at his personal site.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios.

Wow, unfair unneeded stab at Super 8 there?
Yeah… What’s wrong with Super 8? I liked it a lot.
It had its flaws, (too much shakey cam, not enough clear shots of the alien) but overall it was a great little movie that perfectly captured the feel of the old Spielberg Amblin Entertainment films of the 80s I thought.
Also, I don’t see at all where the comparisons are coming from for the work?
Yeah Super 8 was a better movie than you’re a journo.
It’s ON!
True. I love Super 8, one of only three films I’ve seen twice at the cinema, sounds like this wank doesn’t have a soul.
Aww Yiss! I love Simon’s work! It’s great to see him being recognised here.
Some amazing art work holly crap!
Super 8 was really good, and this art is too.
Isn’t that first one Elliot’s house from ET?
Holy shit some people really took offence there xD
