It’s been over 11 years since we last saw Hudson Soft’s bestial battler series in action, and chances of a Bloody Roar revival are incredibly slim. Thank goodness Capcom is here to provide us our anthropomorphic fighter fix with a whopping nine packs of “Wild Costumes” for Ultra Street Fighter IV.
Sure, no one’s transforming into a rabbit, bat or half-beast, but Juri the Cheetah, Rufus the Walrus and Dhalsim the Elephant have got to be worth something to Bloody Roar fans. Maybe something like $US3.99 for nine packs of four costumes each?
It’s kind of ridiculous to spend nearly $US40 just to outfit your Street Fighter characters in animal costumes. That said, I fully plan on spending nearly $US40 to outfit my Street Fighter characters in animal costumes. If I cannot be a champion, I shall at least be a peacock or a tiger.
These things should be available now, by the way.

I didn’t even realise Bloody Roar belonged to Hudson. Only relatively recently discovered that the guys who made Primal Fury went on to do TvC, then MvC3.
Wonder where the rights have ended up, now Hudson’s dead (RIP).
Poison is a peacock… classy capcom, really classy.
Some of them look pretty cool though!
I think almost all of the poison outfits are terrible. my 4yr old daughter plays a bit and she usually selects poison, i feel very conflicted about it. Lot of fan service there. I don’t think she needs to be seeing that much arse at such a young age 🙁
Yea some of them are definitely cool, and I like some of the links between the character and animal like: Ryu as a Wolf, Ken as an (American) Eagle, Dudley as a (British) Bulldog, Sagat as a (Duh) Tiger.
Totally! No way am I putting down $40 but I’m going to have to get a couple. The sagat one in particular looks badass!
