Dayshot: Then this Unreal Engine 4 remake of Banjo’s house (via DSOGaming) from the first game likely wouldn’t have that graphical wow factor at all. Or the nostalgia.
Created by 3D artist Neil Goodman over the course of a few months, the aim was to add “a lot more detail and little secret items and mementos from the various games [to] bring the space alive and really make it feel lived in,” at least compared to the original Nintendo 64 version.
Check out the HD shots below, and if you wanna take a peek behind the scenes, you can look at some WIP shots in the project’s Polycount thread.
Dayshot showcases some of the prettiest, funniest game-related screenshots and art that we can find.

Gorgeous stuff. Really makes you sad that Microsoft bought out Rare. After the brilliant Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie games what did we get? Nuts and
BallsBolts. That game was an insult to the two that had come before it.Nuts & Bolts was a cool game with excellent graphics, it’s just that it unnecessarily tacked on the Banjo brand. Would have been cool as an original IP.
Every time I see Banjo-Kazooie news this comes up and I get a tiny bit sadder each time.
Nuts & Bolts was a great game.
It was a disappointment in that it wasn’t the same thing as the previous games, but on it’s own it was an excellent experience.
EDIT
Now I feel like playing it again. But I got rid of my 360 last year. Damn.
I will defend Nuts and Bolts to the death. That game is incredible.
At least Rare still own all the rights to the franchise (as is my understanding) so all it would take to make a new one is for Microsoft to decide that they would like to have one.
Pretty sure Rare bought themselves back, so all they would need is the money from a publisher to get started on it.
Unreal Engine 4, the only engine made exclusively for pretty screen shots and tech demos. Actual games? NAAAAAAAH.

I really hope the Crackdown reboot is half decent… Though it had its issues, the first game was quite good.
If Banjo Kazooie was made today I would have played it as a child.
I’d be happy for MS to drop the price of the HD version on the 360 store. I’ve been waiting to get it for ages but for some reason I just can’t quite justify the $15.
I just keep expecting it to show up as a weekly deal but it hasn’t happened yet….
