Looking to pick up a new console in the January sales? We tried to round up some of the best bundles.
Anyone seen anything better? Feel free to let us know!
EB Games
Xbox One + Assassin’s Creed Unity + Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag + Dragon Age: Inquisition (No Kinect) — $499.95
This is pretty cheap. A great deal particularly if any of these games excites you.
PlayStation 4 + Driveclub + LittleBigPlanet 3 + The Last Of Us Remastered + Grand Theft Auto V — $599.95
EB Games is doing a number of these four game bundles. I think this is probably the best one.
Wii U Basic Pack (White) — $297
A limited online only deal while stocks last. Grab this if you can, the Wii U has a great line-up of exclusives now. Maybe the best of the three major consoles.
Target
Xbox One + Assassin’s Creed Unity + Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag + Halo: Master Chief Collection (No Kinect) — $429.95
Um, this is a phenomenal deal.
PlayStation 4 + LittleBigPlanet 3 + Rayman Legends — $549.95
A surprising lack of PS4 bundles.
Wii U + Mario Kart 8 + Rabbids Land + Sports Connection — $424
Decent, considering the Mario Kart 8 bundle generally retails at $429.
JB Hi-Fi
Xbox One + Assassin’s Creed Unity + Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag + Dance Central (With Kinect) — $599.95
Not bad if you’re keen on Kinect. But not great.
PlayStation 4 — $548
Hmm, a distinct lack of console bundles on the site — anyone seen anything in-store?
Wii U + Mario Kart 8 — $419
Again not too many bundles. Maybe it’s a store by store thing? Anyone seen anything? It’s not like JB Hi-Fi to not have crazy bundle deals.
Anyone seen anything better in stores? Anyone manage to pick up a console in the sales? Let us know in the comments below.

Xbox One + Assassin’s Creed Unity + Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag + Halo: Master Chief Collection (No Kinect) – $429.95
Um, this is a phenomenal deal.
How is that a deal when two of the games in that bundle don’t work?
Which games don’t work?
I think he meant AC Unity and MCC, but to be honest, I played unity from launch and the major gameplay affected issues was mostly fixed with Patch 1 and Patch 2 so calling it does not work now is just being a hater.
MCC Single player is still perfect, just hiccups with the multiplayer that is still ongoing BUT replaying the campaign is enough to take you awhile until they fix the multiplayer 🙂
For me, Halo was always the single player campaigns, I barely ever got into the multiplayer at all outside of playing it split screen with my son for shits and giggles, so that’s a pretty sweet deal for me, so I’m inclined to agree with you.
Except some of the single player content is broken. Checkpoints have trouble saving, achievements have trouble unlocking or even randomly unlocking and split screen had trouble working.
Yea thatsure not true.
Everytime I feel myself warming up to getting a next gen console I check metacritic for the exclusives with a green rating and its a wasteland. Everything worth playing is also on PC these days!

I would agree. I looked at the games I want to buy this year, and the majority of them are Wii U titles. I think there was only 2 Xbox Ones game in the whole list
Is it worth going the Premium over Basic console?
It depends. The difference between 8gb and 32 gb storage shouldn’t factor in the decision – either way, it’s waaaay too little. If you’re going to be downloading games you’ll need (to provide) an external hard drive anyway.
Generally the console bundles are with a premium console so that may sway you. In terms of the console the only difference is the hard drive – so, just go for the model which represents the best value for money for you as a consumer.
Cheers. Yeh the storage is a non-factor for me. Kind of seems like a choice between white or black console haha. None of the current bundles really interest me. I think the basic console plus buying MK8 and DK-TF will be the go.
That’s a great combination of games. DK-TF was one of the most underrated games of the year in 2014 in my opinion. Personally I prefer the black.
Actually you do. The extra memory is needed if you plan on playing buying anything digitally. Besides, it is getting hard to pickup a basic as it is already discontinued.
Not for $200.
I’ve found the post xmas sales pretty disappointing this year. JB don’t seem to have anything going on at all. In the past, the stocktake sales have been the only times it’s actually been worth setting foot in an EB store because they’ve often had some good discounts on games, but this time it’s just… meh. It seems like $70 is the new $50 as far as the EB sale is concerned.
Seconded – especially for games – if you’ve already bought a console the price of games is ridiculous – case in point:
I managed to snag Far Cry 4 on the weekend for $62 (price matched to Target) but Target’s new catalogue received yesterday lists the same game for $78
Fucking ridiculous – DO NOT BUY at that price people!
ARE YOU SAYING THAT EB GAMES AT $109 IS A BAD DEAL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Actually EBGames is selling the “Kyrat Edition” of Far Cry 4 for $75 atm. But in general yeah, they need to at least pretend to compete on sticker price
The Microsoft store has a pretty decent Xbox One bundle.

That deal ended a while ago. Click add to cart, it’ll tell you it’s unavailable.
Jb have the eb bundle but with evil within instead of gta for ps4.
Oh man, I was so lucky to get the Dick Smith PS4 deal just before Christmas. Just $399.
And after trading in two of the games, I ended up paying about $317 for a PS4 + Last of Us.
I only didn’t get that deal because PayPal wouldn’t let me log in. If I see it again I’m not hesitating for a second.
JB has bundles, not sure why you’re not seeing them on the site? At any rate they’re not nearly as good as the ones that were on BEFORE the Boxing Day/January sales. PS4 used to come with 5 new release games at $599 and Xbone used to come with 6 and the Kinect at the same price. Now I think it’s 4 for the PS4 and 3 for the Xbone?
Hmm, a distinct lack of console bundles on the site — anyone seen anything in-store?
They are all here.

$549 PlayStation 4 500GB Console White, Little Big Planet 3, Driveclub, NBA 2k15, The Last of Us Remastered.
Unity and halo are supposed to be buggy messes
I kept an eye on the PS4 bundles over the holidays, but they never really changed much. There’s not enough games that I actually want to even justify trying to chop and change a bundle in store.
At this stage I don’t think I’ll even get a PS4 once that Bloodborne CE drops – I’ll have the game, but the console may have to wait a bit longer yet.
Still waiting for sub-$350 Xbox one with at least two AAA games. Yeah, I’ll be waiting a while.. 😛
JB had a PS4 + Far Cry 4 + GTA + COD:Ghosts deal for $550 for the 3 weeks leading up to Christmas. I swapped Ghosts for Black Flag, not a bad deal.
Costco have
ps4 console
Little Big Planet 3
Driveclub
Last of Us
$494.99
Even buying a costco membership and GTA separately. Still a few $ cheaper than the EBGames deal…
I picked up a GameCube with Rogue Squadron, Wave Race: Blue Storm and James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing for $100. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Dunno if they’re still doing it in January but Big W had a PS4 bundle with Drive Club, Little Big Planet 3 & The Last Of Us for $539 and when it ran through the till it came up at $519 I think it was. This was on the 27th of December though so might have changed since then
Could have sworn I saw an Xbone bundle in a Big W catalogue for less than $400. If memory serves, it was the console with two Assassins Creed games. I think the deal was somewhere around $390.
Keen for a Wii U bundle with Smash Bros… But nuffin
Got mine with Catch of the Day. PS4 with Shadows of Mordor for $449. Pretty good price.
EB and JB are not impressing me at the moment. I seem to be picking up a lot more games digitally now from the Sony store. They have a few good sales.
I refuse to spend more than $70 on a PS3 or PS4 game.
I’m not going to fall for that! Most of these ridiculously good bundles include downloadable games. For me it’s physical copies or bust. Even on these newfangled next-gen consoles and their big hdds, I neither have the room or time to download something that cost the companies nothing to pack in. (Also no trades, swapsies etc if the bundle don’t suit you.)
Whoever redesigned the game section for JB really should be shot since in their infinite wisdom they decided to take out the console bundles and give them their own page (which is great if u know where to look) but not feature said bundles on the specific console sections ie. if u want the PS4 bundle you can’t browse the PS4 section for it as the bundles aren’t listed there… you need to specifically look at the Console Bundles section..
Anyway from the bundle section there’s 2 PS4 bundles –
PlayStation 4 500GB Console, Little Big Planet 3, Driveclub, Singstar Ultimate Party, NBA 2K15. for 599
PlayStation 4 500GB Console White, Little Big Planet 3, Driveclub, NBA 2k15, The Last of Us Remastered. for 549
Nothing out of the ordinary for their bundles.
Got a bargain deal boxing day that seems to have disappeared now
$598 : Xbox One + Kinect + Assassin’s Creed Unity + Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag + Dance Central (With Kinect) + Sunset Overdrive + COD + H:MCE + Forza
I would love to buy that Target 429$ Xbox One bundle but it seems to be expired. Can anyone verify?
Can confirm the Target bundle is no longer available:
