Dude Mixes $US475 Worth of Soft Drinks and Then Barfs

YouTuber Hajime spent 56,365 yen ($613), buying every kind of non-alcoholic drink his local convenience store sold. Then, he mixed them together to make "infinity coffee." Oh dear.

As pointed out by Twitter user Tim Hornyak, Hajime's video shows the huge collection of beverages amassed. There were milk drinks, various types of canned coffee, soda, fruit juices, yogurt drinks, energy drinks — you name it. He bought one of everything the store carried, save for booze.

Hajime points out that he bought all the drinks late at night when the convenience store wasn't crowded so as not to disturb other customers during the day.

"I didn't steal 'em!" Hajime joked, showing off his receipt. He then got very excited, saying, "I'm going to change history!"

Hajime started with the dairy drinks, putting a straw full of each in the jar.

He put energy drinks into the mix too. Disgusting energy drinks.

So many drinks.

Look at him go.

That's a huge variety of beverages to mix. What's the resulting concoction called?

And here's a good look at "Infinity Coffee".

How does it smell?

According to Hajime, it smells of ceylon tea, darjeeling tea, orange, peach, and, um, energy drinks. In short, "It stinks."

"It's bad, but not that bad," Hajime said, adding that it doesn't taste like it will make you puke or anything. So, there you have it, Infinity Coffee is drinkable.

Unless you have too much, that is.

I promise kotaku, if I see anymore of this gif crap I'm finding a new site

100% agree. At least use webm for this sort of thing.

Just found a Chrome extension, "Gif Jam (Animation Stopper)", described thus:

Http request to GIF images will be intercepted and replaced with a version containing only the first frame of the image sequence.

Can't specify which sites it applies to, but it appears to work as described so far - Chrome shows each GIF image using ~100k instead of ~4MB.

I assume there would be something similar available for Firefox.

Or adblock http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/*.gif . I didn't even realise there were animated gifs on this page. Also meant that the article seemed even more pointless than it already is :)

I don't mind, the guy is too cute for me to care haha.

“It’s bad, but not that bad,” Hajime said, adding that it doesn’t taste like it will make you puke or anything. So, there you have it, Infinity Coffee is drinkable.

    Huh?

      The next line is
"Unless you have too much, that is."
      Under the last gif.

But it doesn't say anything about him barfing. I assume that last line is just the author's opinion.

The last gif is of the guy drinking the rest of the, concoction, then proceeding to throw up :P
Do you have gifs turned off?

The hell with so many gifs???? Just link the goddamn video.

"Man" mixes hundreds of different types of soft drinks and it makes him sick....

That's like saying man walks off cliff and breaks his legs... what the hell did he think was going to happen?

Superpowers? I give you.......'BarfMan!' With just one swig of his mighty concoction, BarfMan chunders his enemies to death with his mighty Gastric eructations. Na na na na na na na na, BarfMan!

Wow, ridiculous use of gifs *and* a deliberately misleading click-bait title. Well done.

Kotaku mixes 65mb worth of gifs and then causes their readers to barf

For anyone that's curious, you just involuntarily downloaded ~40.5MB worth of gif with this article. That's bigger than a lot of mobile games. It's also the size of a small music album. There are many games available on Steam that you could have downloaded instead, and many desktop applications that are of a similar size.

In case you're even more curious, if you watched the 5:57 minute video you would only have downloaded approximately 15MB.

Fuck off with the gifs!! They have their place on imageboards but that's about as far as it goes. Sick to death of seeing so many of them in the US articles on here and Giz.

The problem is he mixed the different types. Should have separated them.

613 gifs and no video preview without opening another tab. Gee, thanks

HAHAHA the last one!! OMG slayed me!

But geezus guys, get the picture with the gifs? What if I was using my phone? Total waste of bandwidth.
