Reader poll time! Japanese website Anime Anime (via Otanew) polled 700 of its readers, asking them to name the most splendid anime of last year. Here are the results.
Keep in mind that this is a reader poll and not representative of all anime viewers in Japan. It is, however, representative of the seven hundred people who replied.
OK! Let’s have a look at their favourites (note that the list includes both TV programs and feature films):

meanwhile i just caught up with some anime just started one piece, finished with fairytail and full metal alchemist and so want a season 2 for blue exorcist 😛
I also only started watching blue exorcist recently. I’m glad there’s a second season of Durarara though.
I started One Piece in 2012. Took me 4 months and 2 weeks of binging to catch up. No regret.
Add Gintama to your list. Anime comedy/satire at it’s best.
im so sad only 1 ova ep and a movie afterwards, need season 2 definitely, i still need to read the manga 😀 other animes i havent really gotten into i have to finish one piece lol over 700 eps plz help 😀
I’d have to agree with Psycho Pass. I missed a lot of anime last year but I caught that one and it was excellent. In the first episode or two I was concerned it was looking like a GITS clone, but was pleased to see it went in its own direction and did well with it.
Concerned? I’d be freakin happy with so much as a GiTS clone, cyberpunk is hard to come by. Psycho Pass is great though and did it’s own thing, just wish the second season had more episodes, it definitely felt rushed.
I love cyberpunk. It’s one of my favourite genres, and GITS is a paragon of the genre. But for me personally, obvious copies or genre cash-in attempts are hard to really enjoy. I don’t want a Ghost in the Shell clone, I want to see anime that explores its setting well and stands in its own right. Psycho Pass was one of those, which I was definitely happy about.
Does Parasyte count as 2015?
No Amagi Brilliant Park? Get outta here
I caught that one late and was able to binge-watch the entire season. Time exceptionally well-spent.
This is isn’t half bad. At the very least, it’s all anime that’s recommendable in every sense of that word. I recommend you to at least try the series, and if the genre’s your cup of tea, you’ll enjoy it.
