When Video Games Reflect Real Life

Video games are unrealistic. All problems are solveable, every obstacle manageable. This is not real life. Sometimes the gap is too large to jump. Sometimes you don't have the item for that puzzle.

This video makes the 2D platformer real. Too real. It's such a clever, delicate little video. I love it.

Edit: the video was based on this awesome comic.

Why not link to the comic that the video is based on? (even though it's linked in the video description)

I'm getting a real Dejavu vibe here. Was this on Kotaku already, or did I read it somewhere else?
Best comment was re him building a house instead of a bridge :)

It was on Gizmodo and that was my comment :) http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/02/this-video-game-sums-up-life-in-the-most-heartbreaking-way-possible/#comment-3342234

It made me laugh. Saw similar comment on the comic site, also made me laugh.
Two laughs made for a good day.

Truth. In Real Life, sometimes effort and persistence aren't enough. Risk does not equal reward. Skill and achievement can and will go unnoticed and unrewarded.

Video games do a lot right that real life doesn't. It's no wonder some people would rather live there.

you build a house but you can't build a bridge?

    noob.

lol I've got to say that this was my first reaction too.

This video is seriously poignant and somewhat moving.
