Serg Souleiman is a freelance concept artist who has worked on games like Wolfenstein: The New Order, Mortal Kombat X, Forza 5, The Elder Scrolls Online and the Fallout series.
I like these two pics in particular; they’re personal pieces, but they’re Serg’s shot at redesigning Batgirl and Nightwing to fit the art design used in Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
You can see more of Serg’s work at his personal site.

Nice images. I wonder why Batgirl has so little armour protecting her.
because sexy
There could be legitimate reason for that choice. As Batgirl is usually depicted as slender and lithe bogging her down in a bulky armoured batsuit would hamper her main advantage at tackling the same sort of people that the usually muscle bound powerhouse batman does.
Hey. This is equal rights for women in games.
Rationality went out the window we put those words together in one sentence and turned it into a cause. Please take it elsewhere!
That’s what I’d suggest too, because it’s not just Batgirl.
If you compare Nightwing AND Batgirl’s suits, they’re both designed with a litheness in mind that to me indicates a contrast in Batman’s bulkier more brutish armor.
In the case where form mirrors function, I’d suggest that both Nightwing and Batgirl probably won’t be the brawling kind, preferring instead to use a more acrobatic/evasive style of combat.
That’s it!! Gamer outrage!! Someone get Anita Sarkeesian in here!! Gamergate too!! Conspiracy! Crazyness! Kotaku writes up a 4 page article describing how Anita’s completely right!! Twitter outrage!!
(Have I covered everything?)
She can still be sexy and have more armour, I just find it odd that she has next to nothing and she is meant to be inspired by the Nolan universe
Lol? What was catwoman wearing in the Nolan universe again? =P
Because she did soooo much fighting, plus she is meant to be a catburgler, stealthy and easy to move. Batgirl is a brawler like Batman, she would need the armour
She’s not the same kind of brawler as Batman though. Batman is a strength brawler, it’s mainly about brute force and being able to take hits in the process of giving them. He’s basically a tank, designed to draw attention and take damage.
Batgirl is an agility brawler, she’s much more about speed and evasion than taking punches directly. Granted I haven’t read as much Batgirl as I have Batman but what I’ve seen of her, she fights more like a martial artist monk, armourless and relying on evasion for defence. I can’t recall ever actually seeing Batgirl with armour in the comics, whereas this Batgirl has quite a lot of armour (look at the thickness change at the shoulders/neck, for example), it just happens to be quite form-fitting.
Want to see a Joel Schumacher Batgirl with equal opportunity nipples.
I’m sure Google will help me in my search.
Gimp-suit Batgirl
They look like more Arkham-verse than Nolan-verse anyway
This looks more Arkhamverse than Nolanverse to me. But either way, awesome!
